The Heart of Stories in a Data-Driven World: Storytelling as a tool for Impact

In a world that often prioritizes data, how can we weave stories in our work to achieve meaningful systems transformation? Akar’s founder India Intiar, and Njoki Mbũrũ join FoodShare Toronto to reflect on the simple yet profound idea that “stories are the soul of data.”

In this workshop, we'll explore the transformative potential of storytelling and story-listening. Together, we’ll imagine how to tell community-centred stories that drive systems transformation within the community food sector, philanthropy, and beyond.

This is part of FoodShare Toronto’s Advancing Justice in the Community Food Sector upskilling series, which offers the latest tools, knowledge and skills for folks working in community-based food organizations, supporting them to build pathways for professional advancement.

Priority spaces have been set aside for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour to take part in this workshop series. General Admission tickets are all available. All tickets are free.
