In this five-part writing and reflection series, we invite participants to embark on a journey of reflection, healing, and empowerment across both individual and systemic scales. No writing experience necessary.
Shifting Narratives to Drive Change
Join Akar’s founder Inda Intiar, Community Foundations of Canada’s past Transformation Storytelling Fellow, to explore storytelling as a powerful tool for social justice and understanding community issues. Through examples from the CFC network, participants will explore how storytelling can illuminate complex social issues, amplify community voices, and drive systems transformation.

Gain insights into using storytelling as a tool
Use communications to foster deeper understanding, build connections, and engage their communities more meaningfully.

The Heart of Stories in a Data-Driven World: Storytelling as a tool for Impact
In a world that often prioritizes data, how can we weave stories in our work to achieve meaningful systems transformation? Akar’s founder Inda Intiar, and Njoki Mbũrũ join FoodShare Toronto to explore the transformative potential of storytelling and story-listening. Writing Through: A creative workshop series for transformational collective healing
A five-part transformative creative writing workshop designed specifically for Black, Indigenous and Femmes/gender diverse People of Colour (BIPOC) active in the environmental, climate, and ocean sectors. Through the lens of interconnectedness, community, and the restoration of People and Place, we seek to cultivate a space where the voices of the racialized global majority are honoured, valued, connected, and empowered, knowing this is where sustainable solutions are rooted from. Scaled pricing, and small bursaries available. No writing experience necessary.
